About the role


We are currently seeking a Senior Serialization IT Specialist to be involved with the solution consulting and implementation operations of the Vimachem Serialization business vertical. This is a highly visible role within Vimachem and demands a blend of serialization, IT systems and project management expertise as well as strong client management skills for success.

You will be a part of our highly motivated and growing serialization team, responsible for the successful delivery of projects for some of our largest pharma and biotech customers.

What will you do as a Senior Serialization IT Specialist?


  • Design and lead the execution of serialization project plans that drive successful, on-time deployment of Vimachem’s software serialization solutions (Vimachem Level 3 Serialization Site Manager, Vimachem Smart Warehouse Traceability and Vimachem Manual Aggregation Module) as well as Tracelink Serialization Network implementations (Vimachem is a certified implementor of Tracelink)
  • Engage with pharmaceutical clients to understand their business processes, regulatory requirements, and serialization challenges.
  • Architect end-to-end serialization solutions tailored to the specific needs of the client, ensuring compliance with global regulations such as the EU FMD, US DSCSA, and other country-specific serialization mandates.
  • Lead the technical design, configuration, and implementation of serialization solutions, including integrating our software with ERP, WMS, and other enterprise systems.
  • Ensure successful delivery of serialization projects. Assist in project planning, scope definition, and timeline management.
  • Work closely with internal teams (engineering, product management, support) and external stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation and operation of the serialization system.
  • Create and maintain detailed solution architecture documents, configuration guides, and process flow diagrams for client-specific implementations.
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting during solution deployment and post-go-live support to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with global serialization and track-and-trace regulations to ensure solutions are compliant and future-proof.
  • Conduct training sessions for clients on the serialization system, including system features, workflows, and best practices.
  • Provide feedback to the product development team on features and improvements based on client needs and experiences.
  • Qualify customer serialization requirements and identify opportunities to deliver business outcomes by developing innovative solutions.
  • Provide clear and effective internal and customer-facing communication and escalation paths and processes. 
  • Develop user guides, white papers, manuals, and training materials.


The main qualifications for this Senior Serialization IT Specialist role are: 


  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or Information Systems.
  • At least 5 years of serialization experience leading and directing customer-facing serialization projects, including handling global serialization requirements, and serialization IT architecture.
  • Pharmaceutical experience is required.
  • Subject matter expertise in pharmaceutical product serialization, track and trace (EPCIS, GS1, etc.) and associated challenges and risks impacting the EU, US and APAC pharmaceutical supply chain.
  • Experience in customer-facing solution delivery with strong communication skills, presentation skills and projects management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and work effectively with teams.
